Reliving OSU’s 2004 Final Four season with Daniel & Natalie Bobik

Twenty years ago, Oklahoma State men’s basketball became a phenomenon. Cowboy games were happenings that brought fans in droves to Gallagher-Iba Arena. Daniel Bobik was part of the show on the court while his wife, Natalie, became part of what was happening in the stands. Remember Cool Chicks Wear Orange? Daniel and Natalie recall that season fondly but say their appreciation was greater because of the season that came before the magical 2003-04 season. The Bobiks talked about all that and much more on The Jenni Carlson Show.

Among the topics:

1:52: The unexpected journey that led the Bobiks and their then-6-week-old son to Stillwater.

6:30: The day Daniel found out he was starting for the Cowboys.

7:30: How Natalie reacted after the Cowboys made the Final Four.

8:25: What Daniel told his oldest son, Jaxton, about being a walk-on at OSU

9:20: Natalie remembers the tough early days in Stillwater

14:00: Daniel recalls working at a gas station with Joey Graham during their redshirt seasons

20:00: Remember when Eddie Sutton had the Cowboys practice in football helmets and shoulder pads? Daniel Bobik sure does

22:00: The 2003-04 Cowboys were tough, a skill they practiced

26:26: The genesis of Cool Chicks Wear Orange

30:12: Appreciating the phenomenon of OSU basketball

36:20: How the Cowboys’ toughness came in handy during the NCAA Tournament

39:05: The scar on Daniel Bobik’s wrist from that NCAA Tournament

41:05: Tim Robbins dropped in on the Cowboys — and got to see the Cool Chicks in action

43:05: Remembering John Lucas’ shot to beat St. Joseph’s and the defensive stand that came after

45:15: Daniel Bobik will always remember being introduced as a starter at the Final Four

50:10: What has stayed with Natalie Bobik from that 2004 season

52:10: What has stayed with Daniel
