WATCH: Courtney Wages has deep Oklahoma roots and the Miss Kansas crown
Born and raised in Midwest City, the former Carl Albert High School athlete will soon be vying for the Miss America crown.
Courtney Wages grew up in a super-competitive, sports-loving family in Midwest City. She played five sports. Her brother played a bunch, too. Her uncle, AJ Hinch, has been in Major League Baseball for years. But when Wages started college at Wichita State, her competitiveness was turned in an unexpected direction: pageants. Earlier this year, she was named Miss Kansas, and next month, she will vie for the title of Miss America. Wages joins me to talk about all that and more on The Jenni Carlson Show.
