As conference championship weekend beckons, I thought it would be a fun exercise to imagine what the football world would look like with this year’s teams, but with next year’s conferences, schedules and 12-team playoff format. I did a deep dive into each team’s non-conference schedule and also what their new conference schedule looks like to give my best guess on what a playoff would look like with this year’s teams. I’ll show you who would be in, who would be out and who could be the spoilers in this conference championship weekend. I think you’ll find that there would be a lot for even the most neutral college football fan to enjoy on what will be a wild weekend this time next year.
