A year ago, Andrew Heaney decided to buy into what Texas Rangers general manager Chris Young was selling. Heaney signed a free-agent contract with the Rangers and became part of one of the biggest turnarounds in baseball history. The Putnam City High and OSU alum shares when he knew he’d made the right decision, what it was like rolling through the postseason, then hitting a snag against Houston, and which moments he’ll remember forever from the Rangers’ World Series triumph. Heaney talked about all that and much more on The Jenni Carlson Show.

Among the topics:

2:39 to 3:34: Failure is such a big part of the game that Heaney wasn’t exactly sure how to react when he became a World Series champ.

7:45 to 8:50: Heaney bought the vision general manager Chris Young laid out. But when he got to spring training, Heaney realized the vision was bigger than one person.

30:07 to 31:00: Inside Heaney’s “Oh, my God” moment.
