The NBA Awards votes have been submitted and judging by MVP odds and straw poll results, it appears Thunder superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will fall short of winning the award. Instead, a Nikola Jokic award ceremony seems imminent. Jenni Carlson is joined by longtime Thunder fan and Sellout Crowd staff member Bobby Howard to discuss the factors that gave Jokic the edge over Gilgeous-Alexander, what makes SGA valuable to the Thunder, the effect of Luka Doncic’s late surge, and much more.

Episode highlights:

1:02: Did SGA ever really have a chance against Nikola Jokic?: 1:02-4:49
4:50: Did a lack of national exposure cost him?
7:07: The late injury factor
9:12: The true value of Shai
14:34: The magic of Jokic
18:12: Luka vs. SGA
