Bob Stoops interviewed a familiar face on the latest edition of Sellout Crowd’s Conversations with Coach. He spoke with his brother Mark, the head football coach at Kentucky.  

Mark Stoops took a trip down memory lane, discussing his success at Kentucky, reflecting on the growth of the program, and highlighting the keys to the upcoming game against Florida.

Mark talked about the Wildcats’ recent 10-win seasons and consecutive bowl victories. He also shed light on the significant role played by their brother, Mike, who serves as Kentucky’s linebackers coach.

Mark Stoops credited influential figures like Hayden Fry and Jim Levitt for shaping his career. 

The conversation delved into the Stoops brothers’ coaching careers, including their shared experience of winning a national championship and narrowly missing a chance to face each other in the championship game. Mark Stoops shared his early days in college football, including coaching at the University of South Florida while living in a dorm.

Reflecting on the growth and changes in the Kentucky football program over his 11-year tenure, Mark Stoops stressed the importance of support and continuity from the top down. He acknowledged the university and fans’ unwavering support.
